What's p4s in MUE

The "p4s" means "philosophy for students" that grew up in the family of philosophy for children Hawai'i called "p4c Hawai'i".
p4s MUE is an innovative approach to education that is transforming the schooling experience by engaging people in the activity of philosophical conversation.

Who We Are

p4s MUE is located in the Pedagogy Department of Miyagi University of Education.
We are students learning pedagogy, psychology, special support education, ELL, and human science.
Most of us are Japanese teacher candidates.

Our Objectives

We engage educational and philosophical inquiry in the circle face-to-face or via online video conferencing worldwide.
We develop intellectually safe communities of ourselves, by ourselves, and for ourselves.
We support and sustain students and educators who engage or are interested in engaging in p4c.

p4s in MUE とは

「p4s」は、「philosophy for students」の略称で、「生徒や学生の愛知」という意味です。「フィロソフィー」はふつう「哲学」と訳されますが、もともとの意味は、「知恵や知識への愛」つまり「愛知」という意味です。
私たちのサークルは、p4c、「philosophy for children（子どもの愛知）」ハワイスタイル（p4c Hawai'i）との家族的な交流から生まれました。
知識を愛する話し合い活動を通して、学校教育の負の側面を改善し、学校内外に安心安全な対話による探究のコミュニティをつくり出すことを目指しています。

私たちは誰なのか

p4s MUEは、宮城教育大学（MUE）の教育学コース（KGC）を拠点としてます。
私たちは、教育学、心理学、特別支援教育、英語教育、人間科学を学んでいます。
私たちのほとんどは、将来教員になろうとする学生です。

私たちの目的

私たちは、教育的で哲学的な探究の対話を実践します。あるときは、お互いの顔が見える小さなサークルで、あるときは、インターネットを使ったビデオチャットで。
私たちは、知的に安心安全な自分たちのコミュニティを、自分たちの手で、自分たちのためにつくります。
私たちは、p4cを実践している、あるいはp4cの実践に関心のある子どもや学生や先生たちをサポートし、持続できるよう支援します。
